About 6 1/2 years ago the five area church clusters, Human Concerns Committees got together and felt we needed a free-meal program in the area for our people in financial need as well as social needs. We formed the South Shore Meal Program. The group decided that Immaculate Conception Parish Hall would be the ideal place because of availability for the people to come for their meal.
The meal is sponsored at this time by four area churches, St.Paul's,St.Augustine's,St. Veronica's and Immaculate Conception. We serve approximately 75-150 per meal. The meal is served from 12-1 every last Saturday in the school hall.
Many helping hands are needed to help cook,serve cleanup and various other duties. If any one has some extra time to help, please join us on our volunteer list. The volunteer coordinator will call you every other month. We also need help with bake goods such as muffins, cupcakes etc.
